Canada geese were quick to adopt this new lake, which is a rather a positive sign. Improving the quality of the water flowing into the rivers and then into Lake Ontario had become critical. After the rains, it was a common sight to see the stream washing away many dead fish, which the seagulls fed on. Bathing had to be banned for a while.
