Along the Rideau Canal, ON
Boat waiting in a lock at Kingston Mills. It takes several days to travel the canal’s 202 kilometres. There are of course the waiting and manoeuvring times at the 47 locks, but also the speed limit so the banks are not damaged. In addition, there are many tempting stops along the way, between the charming little towns where to get supplies and the islands or banks open to the walk, so take the time to enjoy them. It is therefore necessary to allow a minimum of five days, easily doubled or tripled.
