Brampton, ON
Brampton is located in the suburbs of Toronto and is one of Canada’s fastest growing cities. In 1853 there were 53 inhabitants, today there are more than 600,000. Brampton has joined the group of Canada’s ten largest cities. Its City Hall is located at the crossroads of Queen St. and Main St., a very traditional naming.

Sounds similar to Vancouver and Burnaby which will no doubt be one large city someday.

You’re absolutely right, Burnaby and Brampton are growing fast because of their proximity to the big city which doesn’t have much space left, and most of the new inhabitants come directly from abroad, China for Burnaby, India for Brampton.

I knew Brampton was big (and getting bigger), but had no idea that it was now one of the tenth largest cities in Canada.

It’s true that it’s surprising, and I see that the strong growth of the last few years concerns the entire periphery of Toronto, where there is still room to build.
