Fall in Quebec, QC
Grandes-Piles on the bank of the Saint-Maurice River, its initial development was related to the logging industry. As logging moved further upstream, the river was used to transport logs by floatation, guided by log drivers. The trees eventually grew back and once again offered their colourful fall parade.

What a picturesque village — surely much nicer looking with the trees regrown. Tahoe has a similar history — logged for years and now grown back.

I think we are learning from our mistakes, logging is of course necessary but forest management has improved.
