Fall in Ontario, ON
The Badlands of Cheltenham in Caledon are a geological curiosity located 40 miles, 60 kilometres, northwest of Toronto. The soil supporting the vegetation was eroded, then the water continued to erode further, forming waves. The site, which had been open for a long time without control, has been heavily used, especially in the fall. Since then, the site has been redeveloped to promote responsible access based on an hourly reservation system.

Thanks. I know, it’s not the Death Valley, but there are geological curiosities around here too 🙂

I find it hard to imagine the Death Valley with trees in the fall, it would lose a lot of visitors.

It is true that this gives an unusual appearance to the landscape. It’s a pleasure to try to find the best angles for the photographer.

I love this area in Ontario. I totally remember when you could walk all over the Badlands. Glad they put a stop to that to preserve the area since it’s quite neat. You think you’re on another planet or something!

I completely agree with you, I have even seen people biking and skiing there in the winter. It’s not so easy for the photos and you can’t play with the figures in the landscape anymore but at least it preserves this fragile soil for longer.

You’re right, it’s a bit like combining disparate elements that would deserve separate interest, but it was too tempting to put them together.

That’s right, both are unusual, soil surface and foliage.
