In front of Union Station, Toronto’s main train station, a Christmas tree is what stands above a rather unconvincing wall of ice. In spite of lighting and music every ten minutes, the attempt to honour the beauty of the Canadian winter landscape with white plastic sheeting lacks realism. The intention is good, but in the end the classic Christmas tree saves the installation.
