Quai Branly Museum, Paris
The Quai Branly Museum dates from 2006. It is therefore one of the youngest museums in Paris. And yet it has a long history of bringing together and developing collections devoted to the primitive arts of the civilisations of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. Mayor of Paris and then President of the Republic, Jacques Chirac (1932-2019) was the great architect of this achievement, and his name was naturally attached to the museum.
