Weekend in Bordeaux
Following the construction of the Place de la Bourse in the early 18th century, the Grand Théâtre was completed in 1780. The work was funded by the wealthy Bordeaux wine merchants and organised by the Governor representing the King. Capitalizing on these prestigious monuments, Bordeaux regularly ranked as one of the most attractive cities in France, leading many Parisians to move there.
