Weekend in Bordeaux
Rue Sainte Catherine is the main commercial street in Bordeaux. Straight and pedestrian, its length exceeds 3900 feet, 1200 meters, there are about 230 shops. These are mainly national or international brands, as traditional local traders are becoming increasingly rare. The optical effect makes the density of the crowd higher than the reality, however the frequentation is significant throughout the week, including Sundays, which is still uncommon in France.

This is true and it’s sad because it was still mandatory in this street at that date. In the shops and trams, the rule was fully respected though.
