The 1900 Gare d’Orsay, which became the Musée d’Orsay in 1986, is dedicated to Western art from 1848 to 1914. The transformation into a museum was the initiative of former French President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing; after his death in 2020, his name was added to the name of the museum. The most visited part is the exceptional collection of impressionist and post impressionist paintings. Including temporary exhibitions, 3.5 million visitors came in 2019.

I understand, there is the surprise of this space that opens up in the middle of the museum. Then, depending on one’s style preferences, the quality of the works on display is striking.
