The gallery devoted to Japan is rich in precious objects. The earliest periods left religious statuary, mainly Buddhist, while more recent times have produced works in a variety of fields, showing excellence in craftsmanship. However, most of them are in glass cases, which affects the visitor’s perception compared to the directly accessible works.
