
Champ de Mars, Paris
The military school is located at the end of the Champ de Mars, which owes its name to Mars, the Roman god of war. Designed in the middle of the 18th century to train royal officers, the Revolution assigned it other tasks. The building became a military school again at the end of the 19th century.
