Paris-Athènes at the Louvre, Paris
In 1453 Constantinople fell and for centuries the Ottomans controlled the southern Balkans. In 1822 Greece regained its independence with the help of the European Great Powers. An exhibition at the Louvre explores the relationship between Paris and Athens during the formative period of modern Greece, particularly on a cultural level.
