With the independence obtained with the support of the great powers, all monarchies, it is decided to create a king of Greece. It was Otto I, son of the King of Bavaria, who reigned from 1832 to 1862. He organised the young country with modern structures, while valuing the heritage of Antiquity to form a national culture. To this end, the queen and her ladies-in-waiting dressed in elements of traditional costume.

That’s a good point. There is a mixture of Bavarian costume with Greek fashion, influenced by Eastern dress. It must have been fun for the women of the court to create clothes, with the good intention of helping to establish a national identity.
