Villages in Aveyron

(continuer en français)

Belcastel is a serious contender in the category of the most beautiful villages of France, and regularly features prominently. Its medieval castle has been restored and is open to the public. This has given new life to the village, whose beautiful old houses are used for various tourist activities. Tourism is a development factor for the whole of Aveyron, which benefits from the preservation of its rural traditions.

  1. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all your pictures from this lovely place – a place I’d never heard of, by the way. Now I want to go see for myself and I’m hoping a friend will suggest a driving holiday in France later this year and I can suggest this place to her.

    • Belcastel is a very remote place, the nearest major city being Rodez. Around Rodez there are many villages worth visiting as I have shown this week, there are more. Thank you for your interest.
