
Old Lille
The Pont Neuf street and the Sainte Marie-Madeleine church date from the expansion of Lille following the French conquest at the end of the 17th century. A new architectural style took over, copying the Parisian constructions inspired by the classical style after the exuberance of the Renaissance and the Baroque.

I have enjoyed your recent string of Lille photographs. A few familiar spots too, as Lille is one of the few places I’ve been to in France. Keep on, keepin’ on.

Thank you Leighton! I’m glad I could bring back some memories, it’s true that Lille is becoming a kind of London suburb with the Eurostar.
