
Carnavalet Museum, Paris
Paris became the capital of France in 508 with Clovis. Afterwards, the court moved to different places, such as Versailles. It was not until the Revolution that Paris became the permanent capi-tal of France. The Carnavalet Museum highlights the role of the monarchs in the improvement of their capital, Napoleon III being probably the one whose legacy is most visible today.
