March 2021 – Paris
I can at last title this monthly blog from Paris. After the stressful uncertainties of the travel, the reward came with an ideal weather to discover the changes since my last visits. Like these Tulips by Jeff Koons, finally out of the ground in front of the Petit Palais after much controversy.
As my Best of Canada for Picture of the Day continues its journey across the country, the month of March will be spent in the Maritimes. As for Destinations, we will be heading to Central America to gain some time on the return of the good weather.
Destinations for March:
What you may have missed last month:
- Ecuador: What to do in Santa Cruz Island
- Paraguay: Itaipu the powerful
- Peru: What to see in Miraflores
- Uruguay: Santa Teresa Fortress

I can see why there was controversy. 🙂 Congrats on everything PARIS!

Thanks Kelly. The original location seemed more appropriate for the context, modern art, but the ground could hardly support such a mass. This recent sculpture does not leave passers-by indifferent, especially at a time when there are no real flowers yet, merely the first daffodils…

The person walking by really shows the scale. This is going to sound weird, but the flowers look more like coloured marshmallows to me. I’m not keen on it but it makes a statement.

It is true that the rounded shape of the flowers can make them look like giant marshmallows, especially when you start to get hungry after a long walk 🙂

I went to Belize 4 or 5 years ago, it’s a small country but with a low population density so there is a lot of space. Tourism is growing, following the model of Costa Rica. Two destinations, either the islands for the seaside, or San Ignacio for the Mayas and nature, generally nice prices. To be continued …

It’s not easy to leave Canada, nor to enter France, but it’s behind me now.
