May 2021 – Paris
Another month spent travelling in the memory trunk and the next two months don’t look any better. But as for being grounded somewhere, Paris is not the worst place. It is with real delight that I revisit all its great monuments and charming neighbourhoods to collect the Picture of the day.
I still have many Destinations to show in Latin America, I give myself until the end of June to put together a consistent set of articles. I’m thinking of spending the following two months adding a few articles on the United States and Canada, with the idea of then being able to start using the first trips to Europe, provided that the situation improves.
Destinations for May:
What you may have missed last month:
- Colombia: Bogota, on La Candelaria’s hillside
- Ecuador: What to expect in Santa Fe Island
- Peru: The Sillustani chullpas
- Bolivia: The Tiwanaku mysteries

Paris in the Spring looks beautiful. Looking forward to what’s on the horizon for May. I’ve always wanted to go to Chile, so looking forward to hearing about your adventures and experiences there.

You can’t go wrong with Paris, orf Chile, or Canada or Bolivia or ……. In the hands of a good photographer they can all look amazing and after all, it’s the memories they evoke that matter.

You are right these memories matter, they are part of me now, they build my knowledge and ability to understand other places more easily and I am happy to share them. Thank you for your readership.

europe sounds like it wants to be ‘open’ for summer so hopefully you will be able to get out and about and explore it!

Hopefully, at least part of Europe will be accessible, at this stage we don’t know all the parameters yet.

As far as being grounded, Paris is not the worst place…haha, that’s quite the understatement. It’s such a beautiful city! My husband and I are swooning over it as we watch the Netflix series Call My Agent, set in Paris.

Although many places were closed, there was a sense of privilege in knowing that the city was closed to outside visitors, or almost. It’s incredible how many films or series use Paris as a setting.
